Faux Painted Floors – Master Bath

I couldn’t afford to tile my floors which badly needed recovering (it’s hard to live with dirty brown shag carpet), so I decided to just paint the concrete as a temporary fix. That was almost fifteen years ago now and the floors still look fantastic. Even though I could have covered them later, I didn’t.

Here are photos of my floors that have been faux painted with exterior latex. I use an untinted flat paint and tint it myself so that I can mix all the colors I need from one gallon of paint. It only takes about a gallon of paint to do an entire floor and once finished there is usually enough untinted paint to serve as a protective varnish.

Once the floor was finished, I had to add a little decorative painting for fun. I feel very relaxed in this room.
