Just Until

It was the last assignment the professor gave – to write a song entitled “Just Until.” I had no idea what to write about, I was tired from four and a half months of a creative marathon of writing. It just started to come, almost word for word before I could even get out of the parking lot. I had to stop on the way home and scribble it all down. Almost word for word the song stands. By the time I got home, I had the melody. I don’t know where it came from but I guess it needed to be written and I was just a medium. It’s for all the women who didn’t come home from Iran, Afghanistan and everywhere they are called to active duty and for their loved ones forever left behind.
