I lucked into an opportunity to spend some time with Alonso Rey and several other people at the Old Bakery and Emporium. He set up a still life of fruits and we were able to pick out a portion of the scene for painting. It’s been decades since I painted and frankly I didn’t know what I was doing then, so it was quite a struggle.  For some reason, it comes out like a photo, when what I really want to do is a beautiful impressionistic work. Hopefully, one day I will graduate to this more ethereal way of painting.

Caught me right in the middle of working on the Egret and now it’s going to be hard to get back into it. I was glad for the opportunity for painting a little but…I think I prefer my fabric.
